My MAY SOAP BOX

Ok so let me preface this entry to say this may not be such an entertaining entry..But it’s time for my SOAP BOX!!!!

In the last couple of months I have been 3rd party witness to not ONE but MULTIPLE grown adult women throw FULL OUT PITY PARTIES!!!! Now in my opinion we all have times in our lives that we get discouraged, worn out, tired and just days that you just throw your hands in the air and say.. I give up! These are the times I do not qualify as a pity party. These are all things that I myself go through because life at times just gets overwhelming. So I came across this “definition” of a Pity Party…which was weird cause I have been thinking about this for the last couple of weeks and I thought it fit my thoughts VERY WELL!

The definition of PITY PARTY from Urban Dictonary

A way of experiencing grief, in which you spend your time feeling sorry for yourself and whining endlessly about how crappy your life is.
Pity parties can be just for one or for many people, such as maybe your friends and close people, who will try to comfort you or just be there for you while you keep asking yourself what did you do to deserve whatever it is that made you so sad in the first place
Pity Parties require the proper outfit, which is usually pajamas cause you dont get all dressed up during those feeling-sorry-for-myself moments. Also you should have no make up on or just the one from the night before; hair undone as well.
It also involves tissues, comfort food such as ice cream; chocolate; potato chips; cookies; cake; and candy. Low fat food is banned
Alcohol might or might not be allowed (if alcohol makes you go wild, no alcohol should be brought to the pity party in that case since the point is not exactly to have fun). The purpose of a Pity Party is to dump the pity
Music is also very important at pity parties, including songs like "One is the Loneliest Number", "All by Myself" and any other song that makes you feel like throwing yourself from the nearest cliff
Pity parties usually end after you are done whining or if someone breaks it up. This will usually be a cynical loved one who will not let you drown in self pity and will take you either to have the best time ever, drinking and partying or will just make you crawl out of bed by making you see how pathetic you look and how you should cut the whining and just do something to me.

It happens and everyone in their life has thrown a pity party and I know this may be a shocker to many…..BUT……. I am included!!! I think there has to come a point when you “Build a Bridge and REALLY GET OVER IT” I think people lose more than they gain by staying in this state of mind. It really is a waste. And it is really sad to have witness it. In the one conversation I was having with this gal I wanted to just record it and play it back to her so she could hear herself!!! It’s lame!! It is annoying when it just keeps going and going and going and going…………..You are the one in charge and YOU are the one who can change it NO ONE ELSE CAN!

I will now leave my soap box on Pity Parties with these last two quotes!!!!

'Not that I have much pleasure indeed in talking to anybody. People who suffer as I do from nervous complaints can have no great inclination for talking. Nobody can tell what I suffer!--But it is always so. Those who do not complain are never pitied.'" Pride & Prejudice, volume 1, chapter 20

“I will not be a goody bag at your pity party” Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist

OH HAPPY DAYS PEEPS!!!!

ENJOY THE MOMENTS OF LIFE!!!! :0)
