DIY!!!!! THAT'S ME!!!

Okay peeps.. for those of you who know me well, know that I AM NOT CRAFTY AT ALL!!! But for some odd reason I caught a bug!!! It might be the DVR shows that I have been catching up on lately.. all the sudden I decided to go into interior design or something!!! Anyhow.. So today was the start of my new project! It has been kinda difficult cause Abbie and Caid are sharing a room right now.. So trying to come up with something that would work for both of them is something I had been pondering for a week or so! SO this week it HIT ME!!!! HERE IS MY INSPIRATION!!!!







OK..SO WE ARE GOING TOTALLY 80'S!!!! THAT INCLUDES THE NEON!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)Mixed in with a little B.O.B (you know the airplane song) I went to Costco and got this blown up to a 16X20 poster.for $5.99!!! :)

So my new favorite find it RIT DYE!!! DUDE that stuff rocks! You can change anything with that thing!!! So we had two comforters that I took bleached and then dyed one blue and one orange. I took some pics of the comforter.. But the pictures doesn't really show the real colors. But you get the jist.. We also found caid a bed it was the color periwinkle. it was that light purple.. so we also gave that a makeover today!!! :) So here is a pic of DAY ONE!!

I know I know.. 2 in one day.. and even in 2 hrs.

So today is cleaning day.. going through stuff and this is a great detour!!!

So last year Abbie would have to write a "Weekend News" update.. Just something the class does as a fun way to improve writing skills. So here is what I found and I LAUGHED MY BUT OFF.. I will cap locks the part that I died on incase you miss it!!

Zeke the SHOPLIFTER!!!

Well as I posted a couple days ago.. Zeke the gardener.. is now officially.. ZEKE THE SHOPLIFTER!! OK.. seriously.. EVERYONE!! ALL kiddies have done this!! I HOPE THAT IS NORMAL!!!! So the kids went to the fancy $1 store to spend some money. Zeke spent his on the quarter machines and bought some gum. Everyone was done buying their special whatever.. (these shopping trips are so annoying to me.. but whatev!!) Everyone was loaded back into the car. Headed home 15 minutes later arrive home. I am unloading the car. Zeke comes out and says.. LOOK AT MY NEW CARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was SHOCKED!!! MOSTLY that out of 3 of us! (Abbie,Caid and I) NO ONE SAW HIM!! even get it, hold it or take it! So Abbie and Caid were as shocked as I was! So at first he was laughing and said I was "so funny" and well after the spank he knew he was in deep water. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I loaded everyone back into the car and headed back to the beloved dollar store. Lecturing Zeke all the way back, he had that hyper-ventilating crying going on. He semi-calmed down when we got there, I told him what he needed to say.. which was.. "I took this without paying for it and I am sorry"
So. we walk into the store. Went to the cashier that checked us out, holding the box of cars and he did say exactly that. "I took this without paying for it and I am sorry" He held himself together VERY well but said that with a BIG BIG SAD LIP the whole time. (which I think gained him points with the other 2 women cashiers looking on) We gave the guy a dollar. (ALTHOUGH.. he does not get the cars but he had ripped the box open so I felt like we had to buy them) Anyways. we walked out the parking lot and I once again re-interated what I had been saying for the last 15 minutes, gave him a HUGE hug and he just lost it again! On the way home he said, "Mom I am okay and I am happy" So that is our story of #3 shop lifting.. 3 down and 1 to go I suppose.

When Jon came home, Jon said. "What happen today Zeke" and he responded. "I dont' want to talk about it" I thought that was pretty funny!

I also know that Zeke is almost 3 and this was a long drawn out ordeal. But I felt he needed to understand what was going on and he knew what he did was wrong. BUT also just as important, I felt it important to make sure Caid and Abbie understood what was going on as well. (NOW... AM I JUST NOT THE SUPER NANNY OR WHAT!!! LOL!!!)

Very Thankful

Today I woke up to this fabulous sunset on my porch! It is hard to believe that even with all my kids sleeping I STILL GET UP!!! But let me add my bitterness to this.. I actually think I am awake cause my husbands ALARM goes off daily like a MILLION times before he gets out of bed!!! ANYWAYS.. no bitterness here or anything!!

Well this week I have been reminded of something that I think God is really pushing on my heart. "Remembering where you have been, and how I have pulled you through"

If you guys have followed my blog or whatever.. You know that 2009 well how can I put this.. SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a hard hard hard year for us! But the coolest thing through it all was how it made our family a UNIT! We had no other option. We either thrived or died. Seriously it sounds dramatic, but I truly felt that way! it was rough. For the first time we had to "forsake all others" and CLING to each other! It was alot harder than I thought but WOW way rewarding.

Our world was shaken,thrown and twisted upside down. So here we are almost AUGUST 2010. And how our lives have changed in 3 months! We are not really out of any hot water by any means. Still adjusting to our new "normal" as "normal" changes daily anyhow! This week God put on my heart. REMEMBER WHERE YOU HAVE BEEN!! And literally. we were in a place that was surreal. How God provided seriously how He provided for Elijah. The birds brought him EXACTLY what he needed on the DAY he needed it and from BIRDS of all places! Let me tell you!!! WE HAD OUR FAIR SHARE OF BIRDS!! Sometimes came from no where land!!! And we constantly told our selves... "Ye of little faith" cause EVERY time.. God gave us exactly what we needed! BUT when things are starting to look up.. EVEN a little. HOW QUICKLY you forget! So I was thankful for this reminder this week.. of just a little poke that said... "REMEMBER WHERE YOU HAVE BEEN AND WHO GOT YOU HERE TODAY! :)

Zeke the gardner!!

Zeke has taken a special liking to Gardening... he loves going out there and picking the peas and strawberries and works with Jon on weeding... So today after we finished our daily run to the garden. He was bound and determined to get these peas washed up.. So he had a whole little system and he went one by one.. and took them to the bathroom sink and washed it up then put it in the "washed" bowl. I did offer for him to wash them in the sink but he had already had his system in place! :)
So I snapped some pics!







Also Abbie found herself a frog the other day. Lola thought it was the coolest thing ever.. But to Abbie's dismay I made her go put it back.. SORRY.. got enough "pets" around this place!!!





Abbie's hair is getting so dried out as it does every year around this time.. with all the swimming and showering and more swimming and showering. So I decided to make up hair mask.. I took avacado, mayo and egg white... mixed it all together and lathered her hair... Hey.. IT WORKED!! :)

BACK

Well we are BACK!! From our little time away!! SERIOUSLY!! It was a Party around here from Friday July 16th until YESTERDAY!!!! Going Going Going.. I don't think anyone stopped! And the only time we did was to sleep!!! Anyhow. We had a blast hanging with my newphews Drew and Devin for a bit while they were here. We left them at my parents for the rest of the week! And they go home on Wednesday back to Alabama. I was lucky and got to introduce them to "Dog the Bounty Hunter" So along with that they will go home with some good lessons learned!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!!




Abbie's bike came in while we were gone so First things Jon did when he got home was get the bike set up!!! I must say it is an awesome bike! Pretty good for my Clearance Find for $50!!! It is called the "POP STAR" bike so you can hook up here little i-pod shuffle thing to it and she has been cruising around the house sporting her new bike and rockin out at the same time! Poor kid when a LONG time with her old bike!! It is so good to have her a new one!!! It is 8:46am and she has been out riding it already! :)


So we have totally missed Jon on our little adventure this past couple of weeks. So today we are headed to the Saturday Market to hang out for a bit listen to some tunes and enjoy the city for a bit! And chill for the weekend!!!

Whew!!!

What a fantastic week it has been for our family!! We have been having a lot of fun! Abbie's party was a huge success!!! She had a blast and love seeing everyone that came. She misses her A-Town friends.. So a BIG shout out to you guys!!! It made her day! :) Here are a couple of pics of her day!








Abbie got a bike for her bday from Jon and I.. can we say FINALLY!!! She has been riding that bike and had that bike helmet since she was 4!!! I know.. BAD PARENTS!! anyways. It is actually VERY hard to find a bike that is not light blue glitter or PINK for a girl. Abbie is far from a PINK girl.. So we had to order her a bike and it wasn't here yet.. So she got a little IOU card with the bike she is getting on it!



Another great thing is that my nephews are here visiting from Alabama! It has been 7 YEARS since I have seen them last and it has been a lot of fun having them here and having the kids play with them and interacting. It really has been a blessing for my kids to hang out with them.! Wish they lived closer to us! My sister didn't come out with the boys.. So I miss seeing her too.. as it has also been about 7 years since I have seen her as well! Time flies that is has been that long!! So hopefully she will get to come out for a visit soon too!



My dad has also been on CLOUD 9 having all his grandkids here together I know that meant alot to him and He is enjoying hanging out with ALL





We all went to SPLASH yesterday..(and I FORGOT my CAMERA!!!) I had never been there.. But the kids had a lot of fun! I got kinda sea sick in that wave pool but had to suck it up for the sake of FUN!!! LOL!!! Today at 1pm we are all headed to the coast to spend the rest of the week together! And we will be home Friday Night. So more pics to come!!! :)

8 Years ago today!!

8 years ago today. I was 44 weeks pregnant!!!! SERIOUSLY OVERDUE!!! with not signs of that baby coming out!!!! So 8 years ago today I was sent to the hospital to get induced!!!! umm.. obviously that didn't work very well cause she wasn't born for another day!!! But JULY 17th!!! We got a beautiful baby girl!!!! :)

For some reason this year I am really emotional about her Birthday. Maybe it's because I don't have another baby keeping me distracted!!! :) But I am VERY proud of Abbie and who she is becoming! It really has been such a joy to be her mom!! So since I prob won't have time to blog for a couple of days.. I thought I would post her Bday pic!!! :)

gearing up

So we are gearing up!!! And I AM SOOOOOOOOOO Excited!!!! Yesterday I went to fold the laundry and came back and was actually pretty impressed with what my two youngest conspired.. a nice little slide. Lola and Zeke my 1 and 2 year old totally made a little playground!!! Please note they even made the ladder to get up to the bed!!! :) They were very proud!!!!

3 in one DAY!!!!

YES.. I am a blogging maniac today!!!!! TODAY!!! I MOVED MOUNTAINS!!!!
So I carpet cleaned the WHOLE house.. well expect for my room.. BUT almost the whole house!!! cleaned the laundry room... cleaned the bathrooms and scrubbed the kitchen down!!! UM YEP!!! I am a rockstar!!! I must say.. OH YA!! and I made a flip flop cake!!! I had this to do list on the the to do list for a long time!! SO now I am ready for bed!!! But it sure does feel good to be productive!!!!

VBS Spirit Day

The kids were so excited to get up this morning and get ready for spirit day at VBS!!! So they actually look kinda scary I think but they thought they were cool!!! :)

Some people call me cake boss!!

YAAAAAAAAAAA RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!! Anyhow.. So instead of spending another $30 on a cake for Abbie's party I decided I would try to see what I could come up with. We have a bunch of peeps coming over and the cake abbie picked only feeds 26. So.. I needed to come up with a alternative.. So I made a "mini" sample... of what is to be a flip flop cake.. Not sure if you can tell what it is.. but this is my attempt at the flip flop cake!!!! :)
